FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q - HOW DOES BLACK CAT DIFFER FROM THE OTHER WALKING TOURS IN CHARLESTON?
The city of Charleston allows 20 people on a walking tour. Black Cat caps their number to 12. No walking with a herd of
people. And Black Cat NEVER allows small children on their night time tours.

When someone spends $15-$20 for a walking tour, they have the right to expect a professional and experienced guide.
BLACK CAT is also the only company where your tour guide will be a published author, historian and paranormal
investigator, not a college student working a summer job. WE DO NOT hire new tour guides every spring and teach them
stories to tell. Mark and Rebel are full-time, career Charleston tour guides.

Q –WHY IS ADVANCE PURCHASE RECOMMENDED?
A – There are limited tickets available for each tour. Most Charleston walking tours will take up to 20 per tour, but BLACK
CAT limits their groups at 12 people so advance purchase is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you wish to guarantee your tour.
Due to the fact that BLACK CAT rarely hires outside tour guides, this is the only way Mark and Rebel have to arrange their
work schedule. WE WELCOME WALK-UPS but cannot guarantee you a slot on the tour.

Q – HOW DO WE PURCHASE TICKETS?
A –   You can buy tickets on-line from ZERVE or call  (800) 979-3370 or (212) 209 -3370. If the sales page says "Tour Not
Available" that means the tour is sold out.  We DO NOT accept unruly children or livestock as barter, but we will consider
high quality rum and other distilled alcohol. Ask your Black Cat guide for details.

Q – WHERE CAN WE BUY MARK AND REBEL'S BOOKS?
If you wish to have an autographed copy of one of Mark's or Rebel's books, they can be purchased at the Waldenbooks at
the corner of Market and Meeting Streets (directly across from the location where Black Cat Tours meet.) For on-line
purchases, click on the cover of the books displayed on this page's margin, it will take to either Amazon or Barnes and
Noble.

Q - WHY IS THE WICKED CHARLESTON TOUR 'ADULTS ONLY'?
A - It is a frank discussion of adult subjects - sex, prostitution, sex, drinking, transsexuals, murder, sex and other fun
subjects. If the discussion of
ice cream flavors sold in a whore house offends you ... please DO NOT take The Wicked
Charleston tour.

Q - WHY DOESN'T THE HAUNTED CHARLESTON TOUR ALLOW CHILDREN LESS THAN 13?
A - This is more than just a "ghost" tour. Your Black Cat guides are also paranormal investigators. In addition to hearing
the chilling and romantic stories of Charleston's most famous ghosts your Black Cat guide will also explore the
explanation of how & why paranormal activity occurs. Modern quantum physics is changing they way in which we view
the ghostly world. THIS TOUR IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FUNDAMENTALISTS. They tend to be close-minded and get
upset with the tour guide which ruins the fun for everyone else.

Q – WHERE DO THE TOURS MEET?
A – All Black Cat Tours meet at Market Hall -188 Meeting St. (corner of Market & Meeting Streets) at The Daughters of
Confederacy building.

Q - WHERE DOES THE TOUR END?
A - The HAUNTED CHARLESTON tour usually ends on King Street, two blocks from Market Hall. Your Black Cat guide will be
happy to walk you back to the Market area.

The WICKED CHARLESTON tour ends at Market Hall.

Q – HOW LONG DO THE TOURS LAST?
A – Our walking tours last approximately 90 -100 minutes and cover approximately a mile. There are several stops along
the way and if you consider that strenuous, then think of your Black Cat walking tour as the beginning of your new
exercise regime.

During May-September it is recommended that customers bring along a bottle of water since it is often hot and muggy in
Charleston.

Q – WHAT IF IT RAINS?
A – Tours will go on rain or shine unless there are severe conditions which include: lightning, hurricanes, plagues of
locusts, and an invading Yankee Army. Your Black Cat guide will make the final decision.

Q - WILL I SEE A GHOST ON THE HAUNTED CHARLESTON TOUR?
A- Probably not. Any of the other Charleston ghost tours who claim that you will see a ghost on their tour are lying to you.
A commercial ghost tour is NOT conducive to 'ghost hunting'. A ghost tour should be entertaining and intriguing, but
customers should have realistic expectations.

If you want to experience real ghostly phenomenom, sign up with a paranormal investigative group in your area. That is
what Mark and Rebel did when they joined
L.E.M.U.R. and as a result, they have amazing experiences to relate.
